France is a popular choice for foreign students looking for Master of Science in Rural Development (IMRD) scholarships who want to study abroad.
It is not always inexpensive to live and study in France, though. While the average annual tuition at public universities is between €200 and €600, it can be as high as €10,000 at private institutions.

Scholarships from Erasmus Mundus
Scholarships from VLIR-UOS or Erasmus Mundus are available for students who want to enroll in the International Master of Science in Rural Development (IMRD) program starting in the academic year 2022-2023.
Additionally, selected applicants from the countries on the OESO-DAC list are given Top-up Grants by Ghent University.
The top 15 applicants each year are chosen to earn three Erasmus Mundus scholarships, together with twelve non-European students.
In addition to the 15 scholarships already indicated, the Management Board may decide to award more scholarships to applicants from specified locations.
An English-language IMRD course is offered in a university or college in Flanders. Candidates from eligible nations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America are awarded VLIR-UOS scholarships, with a focus on developing and post-transitional regions.
Outstanding IMRD applicants are given Ghent University Top-up Grants.

VLIR-UOS scholarships are open to applicants from undeveloped and developing regions of Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Value and Scholarship's Elements
• Erasmus Mundus: The scholarships include a monthly stipend for the duration of the study program as well as a contribution to the students' participation costs, which include tuition fees, library and laboratory costs, full insurance coverage, and any other mandatory costs associated with their participation in the Master.
Scholarship benefits vary depending on the nation, partner, and program.
• VLIR-UOS: This full scholarship covers tuition, living expenses, and a monthly stipend of €1150.
Top-up grants from Ghent University: This isn't truly a full scholarship. Students receive a base wage of €654 and a partially discounted tuition charge.
Eligibility:
For Partner Country Scholarships through Erasmus Mundus, students who are not citizens of one of the EU member states, Iceland, Norway, Lichtenstein, Turkey, or the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia may apply (FYROM).
In addition, they cannot be residents of these countries and must have spent more than a total of 12 months engaged in their main activity—studying, training, or employment—in any of these countries over the previous five years.
All other students may apply for programme country scholarships even if they don't meet the qualifications for partner country scholarships (this includes all nationals of the European Union, Iceland, Norway, Lichtenstein, Turkey and FYROM, as well as, people who have spent more than a total of 12 months in the EU over the last 5 years).
Students who are citizens of one of the 31 eligible countries in Africa, Asia, or Latin America are eligible to apply for the VLIR-UOS program (see the Official Website for list of countries).
Ghent University Top-up Grants are available to deserving IMRD applicants who are nationals of countries on the OESO-DAC list and permanent residents.

Scholarship applicants must submit their online IMRD applications and any necessary supporting documentation by February 28, 2023, and by March 1, 2023. Users must indicate that they want to apply for a scholarship while filling out the online application for the IMRD course.
