When and how can I submit an OeAD scholarship application?

The scholarship program determines this. In order to obtain a list of potential scholarship programs for overseas students desiring to study in Austria, you should first check our database at www.grants.at. You can find all necessary details about the application procedure, such as the application deadline and a list of the required documents. A selection committee will review your application, which you must submit online.

Is funding for international aid exclusive to OeAD?

Austrian students, huh? What are some of the other donors if not?

The OeAD is the main source of scholarships, although there are other organizations that contribute funding as well. A list of potential scholarship programs is available in our database at www.grants.at. Check with regional organizations in your nation as well, as some of them provide financial aid for study and research stays in Austria.

The scholarship program determines this. Please keep in mind that the OeAD and other organizations provide a variety of scholarship programs. Always double-check the specifications of the program you're applying for.

What does the scholarship cover? Does it include lodging and health insurance?

The majority of OeAD scholarships feature a monthly award (depends on the target group). Accident and health insurance will be purchased on the grant recipient's behalf, if necessary. The award recipient must use grant funds to cover the costs of insurance and lodging. The OeAD also makes an effort to find housing (student housing or a flat) for grant recipients who request that the OeAD arrange their housing. Costs per month: 220 to 550 euros (depending on how much comfort the recipients of grants want). The OeAD must be paid an administration fee of 18 EUR each month in order to provide housing.

Admission is one of the prerequisites in other situations. Check the scholarship announcements frequently. To ensure that you will have enough time to successfully finish your application before the deadline, you should educate yourself as soon as possible on the many scholarship opportunities available in your nation.

I'm already a student in Austria, but I don't have financial aid. I'm curious as to whether I may still apply for a scholarship once I've begun my studies in Austria?

You cannot apply for an OeAD scholarship once you have begun your studies in Austria. You can search for further financing possibilities on our website, www.grants.at.
