International Research Scholarship from UNISA 2022 (IRTS)
International Research Tuition Scholarships (IRTS) are given to international students based on their academic ability and demonstrated research capacity. These students will receive a full living stipend during their degree program from an outside source, such as a reputable sponsor or external scholarship awarding body.
The purpose and advantages of an international research scholarship (IRTS)
For PhD students, the IRTS total fee waiver is granted for a maximum of 4 years, and for Masters by Research students, it is granted for a maximum of 2 years. The Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), which is a requirement of the student visa, is not covered by this scholarship, and applicants are in charge of making sure they have adequate coverage for themselves and their families, as applicable.
Qualification Standards for International Research Tuition Scholarships (IRTS)
Candidates must also fulfill UniSA's qualifying requirements and be:
beginning students for degrees in international research
high caliber with a proven capacity for research, as determined by UniSA
be enrolled in a research-rich environment and supported by a strong supervisory panel (with an end-user adviser on the supervisory panel, when applicable).
receiving (or winning) a scholarship with a living stipend that is entirely sponsored by outside sources, or receiving a living stipend that is partially funded by outside sources.
How to Use
International students may apply for any of the mentioned projects if they have outside sponsorship or funding. Some applicants might be subject to extra requirements outlined by the organization providing their sponsorship or scholarship, and they might be required to create their own project with a UniSA supervisor.
