 Awards for Foreign Graduate Journalism Students by Foreign Press Correspondents in 2023 (USA) The Foreign Press Association ("FPA"), which was established in 1918, is the second-oldest association of journalists in the world and the oldest in the United States of America. 

The Foreign Press Association Scholarship Awards ("FPASA") were established on the 75th anniversary of the FPA's founding to support the aspirations of the upcoming generation of foreign journalists for a career in journalism.

The Foreign Press Association Scholarship Awards support the training of the upcoming group of global journalists. 


About the American Association of Foreign Press Correspondents 

The purpose and advantages of scholarships 


There will be cash prizes given out, ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 (USD). 

Qualification Standards for Scholarship Awards 

The following people are eligible for the Foreign Press Association Scholarship Awards: Awards for Foreign Graduate Journalism Students by Foreign Press Correspondents in 2023 (USA)

foreign nationals who will be enrolled in a graduate journalism school in the United States of America in 2023or who will have graduated in 2023

held an F-1 or J-1 visa throughout the year 2023 

Show interest in and dedication to covering foreign affairs. 

  • Selection Standards: The Foreign Press Association ("FPA") appoints a special Awards Committee each year to choose deserving scholarship recipients based on the following standards: 

will enroll in or graduated from a journalism graduate program in the United States in 2022. 

an exceptional track record. 

a national of another country. 

requiring financial assistance. 


Date, Method, and Location of Interviews for Scholarship Awards 

Application evaluation will consider: 

1. Your submission's answer to the Op-Ed query. 

2. A succinct explanation of how you plan to use your FPA Scholarship Award. 

The winning prizes will be chosen by a fair team of journalists, editors, publishers, media directors, and other experts.

 Scholarship recipients will be invited to accept their awards at the FPA's Centennial Gala event on Tuesday, June 12, 2023 in New York City, which will be attended by a crowd of influential people from the business, foreign policy, and media worlds.

A commentary on a topic chosen by the Awards Committee must be included with the application. 

There will be two categories for scholarship awards: print and multi-media.
